Last November 27, BBVA Foundation communicated the resolution of the 2023 call of the Prisms and Problems Programme of the BBVA Foundation. Of the 258 projects submitted, the one led by Marisol Lila (Principal Investigator) and the team formed by Faraj A. Santirso, Cristina Expósito Álvarez, Manuel Roldán Pardo, Raquel Conchell, Viviana Vargas and Elena Terreros is between the 11 chosen projects.
The project, titled "Professionals in the intervention with men who perpetrate gender-based violence: a compared analysis of needs and challenges (PROF-VG)", is funded with 140,989.20 euros and will be developed over the next two years. This project focuses on the identification and evaluation of needs and professional challenges that professionals who intervene with gender-based violence aggressors in Croatia, Spain, Portugal, and other European countries face.
The initiative stems from the need of improving the efficacy of the practices and adapting them to the cultural context of each country, contributing to the development of European standards when it comes to intervention with perpetrators. Moreover, a good practices guide will be elaborated and oriented to optimise intervention strategies, and to offer resources that respond real needs of the facilitators of intervention groups. The project selected by the BBVA Foundation aims to contribute to the increase of the efficacy of programmes of intervention with aggressors at European level, thereby favouring gender-based violence prevention in Europe.
