Why "Shaxpere"

When this space was created in 2004 its name could only contain eight digits. "Shakespeare" being too long, alternatives were looked for in the variant spellings of the name (see Kathman's "The Spelling and pronunciation of Shakespeare's name"). Of the various eight-digit forms, "Shaksper" was already being used for the Shakespeare Electronic Conference; others were too weird, and finally "Shaxpere" (with its ending recalling Valencian "Peter") was chosen.
