More than 140 representatives of cooperatives attended the webinar on the Labour Reform and its impact on the agri-food sector organised by Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain through its Chair, which analysed the measures included in Royal Decree-Law 32/2021 of December 28th. The conference, held in an online format, attempted to respond to the numerous doubts and concerns of cooperatives following the implementation of the new labour reform.

The webinar, moderated by Tomás Rojas, financial director of Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain, was attended by Beatriz Prieto, senior associate at Deloitte Legal, and Fernando Bazán, partner at Deloitte Legal. Both speakers have made a review of the developments that most affect the sector, focusing on the matter of contracting, where the contract for work and service that was one of the most used for the agricultural campaigns has disappeared, explaining that now they must accommodate to the modalities of fixed discontinuous or with some exceptions and limitations to the temporary ones.

The conference raised many concerns among the attendees, especially with regard to deadlines, implementation, contributions and the use of the different types of contracts and their communication to workers.
