The Chair for Agri-food Cooperatives organised an online conference on labour relations in agri-food cooperatives last Monday 13 November 2023 with the attendance of more than one hundred participants.
During the conference, Manual Alegre, Magistrate of the Supreme Court of Valencia and Professor of Labour Law and Social Security at the Universitat de València addressed the different employment contract formulas available to cooperatives, with a special focus on discontinuous permanent contracts, frequently used in the agri-food sector, and which, due to their recent reform, are causing various doubts in their application.
The speaker also explained the latest developments in Social Security, the functioning of the new contribution system for the self-employed and the peculiarities of the Special System for Agricultural Workers, including the latest requirements set out in Royal Decree 504/2022.
