The Basketball Chair L’Alqueria del Basket offers a session on assessment and intervention in knee dysfunction in basketball as part of the ‘Valencia Innovation days’.
The L’Alqueria del Basket Basketball Chair keeps on proving that its commitment with training goes beyond the court. The Basketball Chair, one of the many initiatives of L’Alqueria del Basket, presents a new ‘Valencia Innovation Day’ in June. These cross-disciplinary formations, now in their fourth season, reach all of the areas of our sport. The protagonist of this seminar will be physiotherapy. UV students and the trainers of the club have a special inscription discount.
Several experts on the matter will share their knowledge on “Physiotherapy: assessment and intervention in knee dysfunctions in basketball” on Saturday 15 June from 9.00 to 14.00. Only on-site learning is available. The goal of this activity is to offer resources and strategies for training and top level sport in this matter.

The seminar will start with a lecture by Josep Caballero, a physiotherapist for top level athletes. He has extensive experience in professional sport: Spanish first division football teams, the United States MLS, FIFA teams and cycling and handball. He also has experience in the classroom as a professor of several master’s related to physiotherapy. The first lecture is on injury assessment, presented by Caballero.
Next is Fran Ortega, physiotherapist for top level athletes. He owns his own private clinic where all kinds of pathologies are treated and he has been an adviser and trainer for clubs such as FC Barcelona and Liverpool, among others. He also offers private counselling and treatment for top level athletes in different sports such as athletics, handball, tennis, basketball, martial arts and football. He is also a professor at university and a researcher. The second lecture on intervention will be presented by Ortega.
The event will finish with a round table moderated by José Casaña, Doctor in Physiotherapy in the UV.
