The ATA - Universitat de València Chair was established through the agreement between both entities: the National Federation of Associations of Self-Employed Workers (ATA) and the Universitat de València.

The purpose of this agreement is to develop educational, cultural, research and University Extension activities focused on knowledge and on the ongoing dissemination of self-employment, its social and economic importance and its legal regime. The action field of the Chair comprises the entire Spanish territory, and it applies to any matter of interest for self-employed workers. 

The Chair is governed by a joint committee composed of ATA representatives and university professors who are experts in economic, commercial, financial and labour matters, showing its open and multidisciplinary nature.
