This Chair will promote research related to the audiovisual world as an axis for knowledge and communication.

The Chair for Audiovisual Prospects and Analysis will be made up of the seven Valencian universities that offer communication studies. Its creation was made possible by an agreement signed between the seven universities and the Audiovisual Council of the Valencian Community.

The Chair’s main objective is to create a space for research related to the audiovisual world as a vector of knowledge and communication and related to the trends of the transformation of the communicative system as a result of the convergence of the communication industry, the knowledge industry and telecommunications and analysis of its various social implantations.

Within the framework of the Chair, it will be possible to organise dissemination conferences, publications on topics of interest within the scope of the Chair, as well as the organisation of exhibitions, conferences, the promotion of scientific events and the organisation of cultural activities.

In order to coordinate these activities, Guillermo López García, full university professor of Journalism and head of the Department of Language Theory and Communication sciences has been appointed as the head of the Chair.
