The European Research Executive Agency (REA) has approved the project entitled "Optical and WIreless sensors Networks for 6G scenarios (OWIN6G)", with the participation of the DSDC group and led by Professor Joaquín Pérez Soler.

The project has been approved in the call for the European research framework program HORIZON, specifically in a MARIE Skłodowska-CURIE action for doctoral networks (HORIZON-MSCA-2022-DN-01-01).

The project is participated by a consortium of 21 universities, companies and prestigious European research centers, it has an approximate budget of €2.7 million, and over the next four years it will develop a training program structured at a European level in optical technologies that facilitate applications disruptive solutions based on wireless sensors connected to future 6G networks.

In addition to Professor Joaquín Pérez, who leads the participation of the University of Valencia in the project, the professors of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the School of Engineering, José Torres and Raimundo García, who will collaborate in the training and co-direction of doctoral students.

The program will train ten (10) European doctoral students, of which two (2) of them will be working on the research lines of the DSDC and the Maxlinear company, located in the Paterna Technology Park, which also participates as a member of the consortium.

The candidate selection process will begin shortly, the information of which will be published on this website.
