The Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the UV presented the second edition of its awards, while presenting its latest publication.
Last Thursday 24th February took place the awards ceremony of the second edition of the TFG, TFM and Thesis prizes organised by the Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the Universitat de València regarding the people axis of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended and addressed by the General Director for International Development Cooperation of the Valencian government, Xelo Angulo, the Vice-Principal for Internalisation and Cooperation of the UV, Carles Padilla Carmona, and the Director of the Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development - people axis, Maria Alcantud Díaz.
With a bittersweet taste and with the condemnation expressed by those present regarding the conflict that was developing in Ukraine, the event also featured the intervention of Ana Alcaraz, founder of the Esfera Social Consultancy, for the presentation of the "Strategic Guide for the achievement of the SDG People Axis" a guide that, in Ana's own words, is based on the principle of co-responsibility of all (public administrations, such as the GVA, universities and citizens) and aims to "guide (students, teaching and research staff and administrative and service staff) in the labyrinth of achieving the SDGs in the university: their integration into day-to-day life".
The guide proposes three commitments for each of the five SDGs of the people axis, in order to integrate 15 commitments in total into everyday life.
After the presentation, the most awaited moment came: the awards ceremony. Very pleased because more works were submitted than in the first edition, in the words of the director of the SDG Chair: "there is still a lot to do, since in the arts and humanities field of the TFG and TFM categories there were no applications".
