Meeting

The sub-directorate general for the Implementation and Monitoring of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (GVA) and REDS Spain have met with the Chairs to explore potential collaborations.

The aim of this meeting was to present the process of preparation of the Sustainable Development Strategy of the Valencian Government (GVA) and the actions that are being carried out by the Chairs, as well as to explore the possibilities of aligning these actions with the Sustainable Development Strategy of the GVA. Each of the Chairs is responsible for a different thematic line; the Universitat de València is responsible for line 1-People, which includes the first five SDGs (No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education and Gender Equality).

The different chairs have presented the actions they are carrying out and, on the basis of these, possible ways of collaboration in common lines have been proposed, and potential convergences have been sought between these actions and those being developed with the Sustainable Development Strategy of the GVA.

In conclusion, two common grounds have been found, namely the Awards for Research Work (TFG, TFM and PhD theses) for students in training, as well as the existence of specific web pages within the universities. Therefore, one of the first proposals to start working on would be to converge on both points with the aim of making the different university award competitions more powerful.

In other areas, the creation of a Hub is proposed, as well as joint activities to further the dissemination and visibility of the campus to the general public.
