Architectural heritage

The University of Valencia had a decisive influence in shaping the image of the city from its historic headquarters, built with effort and determination throughout the centuries, with the initial plans by the architect José Luis Oriol for the faculties of Science and Medicine, with architectures that initiated the expansion of the University of Valencia to its new campus on Blasco Ibáñez Avenue.

Fernando Moreno Barberá’s modern buildings were later incorporated, since the late 50’s, without forgetting some references as remarkable as the Luis Vives Hall of Residence, by the university architect Javier Goerlich and the Business School, by the same author, current headquarters of the Humanities Library. Moreover, the development of this architecture will have an important new chapter in the construction of the Tarongers and Burjassot Campus.
