Vanessa Campos, Associate Professor at the University of Valencia and Projects Coordinator of the Chair in ECG, presented the paper “Assessing the effects of Corporate Sustainability operationalization on performance”, on Corporate Governance track.
This contribution focuses on how during the last decades, sustainability and corporate sustainability are topics that have gained lots of interest among scholars and practitioners. More recently, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have become the reference for many businesses to design and implement their sustainability agendas. However, in the literature body, there is little empirical evidence on the impact that the operationalization of businesses' sustainability agendas has on their performance.
Thus, this paper aims to provide empirical evidence on the impact that the operationalization of corporate sustainability through the economy for the common good framework has produced on a sample of 206 European businesses. To this end, the authors employed hierarchical regression analysis and found out a positive relationship between the implementation of the ECG framework and organizational performance. Besides, some curvilinear and moderating effects were also identified.
