Interview with Ana Esplugues about the EPI DATA project (pregnancy and early childhood).
Ana Esplugues is a researcher from the University of Valencia who is also part of the Mixed Unit of Epidemiology, Environment and Health (FISABIO, UJI, UV, CIBERESP).
The pregnancy period is key to child development. Obtaining epidemiological data from this stage helps determine which factors negatively and positively influence infant health.
The letters EPI stand for Embarazo y Primera Infancia (Pregnancy and Early Childhood). EPI is a project from the GIESA research group in which Ana Esplugues is a principal investigator and Aitana Lertxundi and Ferran Ballestar are also members.
The following autonomous regions participate in this project: Andalusia, Asturias, Catalonia, the Valencian region, País Vasco.
The data obtained can be used to support future research groups so that they can build on these results in specific population registers.
