Two brothers tell the story of their grandfather’s trip through war-stricken Spain, from the coup d’état to his exile in France. A story narrated through the experiences they were told and which they, in turn, hope to pass on to help them understand and remember. Sugar and coffee to discuss civil war and the retreat; the kitchen as a playground, everyday objects as protagonists, the dining table as a chess board of our shared history.
