The EXINH Research Group conducts research along 4 lines where Physical Exercise is the approach, treatment or intervention in the majority of projects. Each research line is led by a member of the group who is responsible for the studies and aspects related to the line.
1 - Chronic pathologies
This research line focuses on the effects of applying physical exercise programmes to patients who suffer from chronic pathologies (e.g. cancer, osteoarthritis, back pain, diabetes, haemophilia, etc.), while also studying the risk factors associated with the reduction of these variables for their design.
2 - EMG study
The objective of this research line is to study the neuromuscular responses (fatigue, activation) produced when performing different daily tasks and activities in different populations through electromyography (EMG).
3 - Work environment
This research line studies the neuromuscular responses in a work capacity and the prevalence of problems in the work environment in different populations, as well as the risk factors in order to design prevention/recovery programmes through physical exercise.
4 - Pain
This line aims to study the learning mechanisms behind chronic pain, as well as all of the cognitive processes involved from a biopsychosocial approach.
