The main objective of the research group is the study, design and application of interventions based mainly on physical exercise, as well as to study the effects that this can have on people’s health, whether at a preventative or therapeutic level or as a simple physical conditioning tool. Some more specific objectives include:
- Promoting relationships with other national and international centres committed to the study of pathologies arising from the clinical, occupational and sporting environments.
- Designing, developing and validating new diagnostic and predictive tools for response to treatment with physical exercise.
- Generating the knowledge necessary for the design and application of new therapies and speeding up their clinical implementation.
- Monitoring the epidemiology of chronic pathology and pathology arising from the clinical, occupational and sporting environment.
- Training healthcare professionals and researchers in physical exercise therapy and in its application according to the medical condition or disorder observed.
