Professors, as well as four students of the Environmental Sciences degree of the University of Valencia have participated in the commemorative events of World Water Day (March 22), promoted by the Spanish Group of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (AIH-GE).

The Hydrogeodia is a day of dissemination of this discipline and the profession of hydrogeologist. This year, 2022, the United Nations had decided that the day would focus on groundwater. Under the slogan "'Groundwater, making the invisible visible', proper and effective management was called for.
The day consisted of free activities, guided by hydrogeologists, and open to all types of public, regardless of their knowledge of the subject. On 10 April a hydrogeological itinerary was organized to visit an area with groundwater and to highlight the need to apply hydrogeological techniques to diagnose and correct problems and value their importance.
The objectives of the Hydrogeodia are to raise awareness of groundwater and its importance for the development and welfare of society, but also for the proper functioning of ecosystems, as well as highlighting the role of groundwater in a context of global change, both from a climate and socio-economic point of view.
The Hidrogeolodía was held in the surroundings of the Natural Park of L'Albufera de València, specifically in the places of La Muntanyeta dels Sants and Na Molins (Sueca).
Professor Arianna Renau, from the Department of Botany and Geology of the University of Valencia, and in charge of the subject of Continental and Marine Hydrology in the degree of Environmental Sciences, participated as a monitor of the activity along with other colleagues from the hydrogeology sector, both private companies and public administration. In addition, the Hydrogeodia was assisted by four volunteers, students of different courses of the Environmental Sciences degree of the University.
