SALUDIVERSEX
SALUDIVERSEX is an affective-sexual education programme designed for adults with intellectual functional diversity with the goal of improving their sexual health through a three-part action plan. Firstly, by providing basic information to expand knowledge, promote self-care (sexual development, hygiene, etc.), discuss the limits of public and private spaces, etc.. Secondly, by contributing to the development of abilities and strategies necessary to maintain a positive sexual health (means to begin and terminate interpersonal relationships including those of a sexual nature, autoeroticism, safe sex practices, how to recognise the risk of sexual abuse, etc.). And lastly, by boosting the development of healthy attitudes towards sex and the expression of sexuality relating to intimate relationships, sexual practices, sexual orientation, etc.. The programme, made up of sixteen sessions, is designed for the use by professionals who work in centres where they have a built up a relationship of trust with the individuals with IFD, whether they be occupational centres, residential care centres, or in supervised housing units. The SALUDIVERSEX programme has been designed especially for adults with intellectual functional diversity who require little to no support and have a higher degree of autonomy, but those who require a greater degree of support can also benefit from the programme if the appropriate adjustments are made in terms of the number of people in the group or the time dedicated to the different activities. The programme includes evaluation instruments that allow for an assessment of the effectiveness of the intervention both during the programme and after its completion.
