The worldwide health emergency brought about by COVID-19 gave state health authorities no other option than to enforce the total confinement of the population for more than 60 days, with several advances and setbacks due to newly emerging variants of the virus and different rates of contagion that were ultimately managed individually by the autonomous regions. The population with intellectual functional diversity, being a vulnerable group, were subjected to stricter measures with constantly changing rules and regulations that were ultimately left up to the individual interpretation by the management of each care centre.
The present project studies the different aspects of the sexual health of children, adolescents and young adults in the protection system and/or serving judicial sentences in the Valencian region, taking into account possible experiences of sexual abuse or mistreatment and the nature of the offence committed.
SLUDIVERSEX is an affective-sexual education programme designed for adults with intellectual functional diversity with the goal of improving their sexual health.
