2nd edition of the Sustainable Economy Summer School

Sustainable Economy will once again be the main theme at a conference with the aim of highlighting sustainable living through the contributions of the common good and feminism.

The Chair for Feminist Economics and the Chair of Economy for the Common Good of the Universitat de València together with the Valencian Department of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labour of the Valencian Government organise this 2nd Summer School on Sustainable Economy from 26 to 28 June at the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València.

The 2nd Summer School consists of three days. The first one, on Monday 26 June, will deal with the dialogues on sustainable living with contributions, experiences and reflections. Then, on Tuesday 27 June, we will have three round tables made up of various papers that will aim to respond to how to apply a sustainable economy in SMEs and micro-SMEs, analysing the main supplies of the business fabric. Finally, on Wednesday 28 June, it will be the turn of Feminist Economy with two round tables and a closing lecture. These will aim to highlight the struggles of household and care workers, together with a vision of territory and education from the perspective of sustainable living, concluding with critical reflections from Abya Yala based on the radical practice of Buen Vivir.

This 2nd Sustainable Economy Summer School aims to provide spaces for learning and debate to shape the concept of sustainability, taking into account democracy, economic and social justice, ecological transformation and the proposals made from the economy of the common good and feminist economics. Within this framework, topics such as sustainability applied to SMEs, finance and insurance, the responsible supply chain, the struggles of household and care workers, territory, education and ecofeminism, among others, that affect the production system and the Valencian social reality, in terms of changing the model and satisfying human needs linked to the 2030 Agenda, will be developed.
