For the fourth consecutive year, the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia will hold the International Congress on the Rights of Nature in the Mediterranean, one of the most important academic activities in the world on ecocentrism and responses to the threat of climate change.

The IV International Congress will be held on 3 and 4 July 2025 at the Department of Constitutional Law and Political Science of the University of Valencia, and will bring together around thirty experts from Italy, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Nigeria and Spain. The inaugural conferences will be given by Ramiro Ávila, professor at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Ecuador); Teresa Vicente, professor at the University of Murcia and Goldman Prize for the Environment (the "green Nobel"), and Marina Lostal, from the University of Essex, in the United Kingdom. The congress is directed by the professors of the University of Valencia Rubén Martínez Dalmau and Aurora Pedro Bueno, and the Scientific Council has been chaired by the professor Domenico Amirante, professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, in Italy.

The organization of the Congress is in the hands of the Democràcia+ research group of the University of Valencia, with the support of the Faculty of Law, Casa Mediterráneo, and the Spanish Association of Constitutionalists.
