María Jesús García, director of the ‘Jean Monnet Module. Citizens’ integration into European Union democracy’, will give this lecture on 22 March, at 7:00 p.m., at the Cultural Centre in Quart de Poblet.
María Jesús García García, Tenured University Professor of Administrative Law at the Universitat de València, will focus on explaining the political and democratic rights that we have as European citizens. Moreover, her speech aims to promote citizen involvement and participation, disseminating the community perspective of European citizens as a way of contributing to ‘making Europe’ by creating a sense of identity and belonging to a political community.
The conference will provide the audience with knowledge about democratic rights in the European Union, as well as how to exercise them before the European Institutions and the EU member states.
This lecture has the participation of the ‘Jean Monnet Module. Citizens’ integration into EU democracy’, and has been organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, the Quart de Poblet City Council, the Valencian Provincial Council and Caixa Popular, within the framework of the UniSocietat programme.
