The Institute of Human Rights of the Universitat de València and the HelpAge Foundation convened the Congress of Older People on 19 and 20 September 2023 in Valencia.

The collection The human rights of older people in Spain: equality and non-discrimination based on age includes reports that address age regulations and discrimination in access to goods and services.

The congress, themed Law, Rights and the Elderly, addressed ageing and the rights of older people from a legal perspective.

The event brought together national experts to discuss the most relevant issues related to older people from various branches of law. The event was attended by Fabiola Meco Tébar, representing the UV’s DyPM Research Group. Discrimination on the grounds of age was analysed and current knowledge and experiences in this growing field were gathered at a global level.
