Félix E. Montero Rocca of the MATS Group received the Best Oral Presentation Award of the ISFMEM 2025 for his work on PVDF Membrane Electrothreading with green solvents.
Researcher Félix E. Montero Rocca participated in the 1st International Symposium of Functionalised Membranes (ISFMEM 2025), presenting the session ‘Green solvent-based electrospun PVDF nanofiber membrane production for gas-liquid membrane contractors’.
In his presentation, he displayed the group’s most recent advancements in replacing conventional solvents like DMF with sustainable alternatives for PVDF electrothreading such as DMSO and TEP. The study proved that membranes made with more sustainable solvent systems can be used without compromising their performance in water current methane retrieval applications, which makes an important step towards the creation of greener membranes.
For the quality and relevance of his work, Félix receiver the Best Oral Presentation Award of the ISFMEM 2025.
The study lies within the research projects CarbonBrane (PID2021-1224950A-I00) and MethBrane (TED2021-131276 A-I00). Student Félix Eduardo Montero Rocca find funding from the Generalitat Valenciana (CIACIF/2022/386) to develop his doctoral thesis on Chemical, Environmental and Process Engineering at Universitat de València.
