The objectives of this season have focused on continuing the excavation of the two sectors of the previous years and extending one of them, while continuing to improve the implementation of new technologies for the study of the site, highlighting the use of new technologies software for the analysis of the archaeological record.

This intervention has been directed by Sonia Machause López and Agustín Diez Castillo. It is part of the annual programme of excavations of the Museum of Prehistory of Valencia and the Generalitat Valenciana project ‘Deep in caves: Iberian rituality in context’.

Although post-depositional factors have unfortunately strongly altered this cave, little by little, we are gradually gaining a better understanding of the ritual practices that took place in the cave during the Iberian period.

From the Department we would like to thank the collaborating entities, as well as the participating students of the Bachelor's Degree in History and the Master's Degree in Archaeology: Daniel Negueruela, Xavi Pérez, Jordi Colomer, Damian Guillem, Hugo Melero and Desiree Rico.

Through our social networks we will keep you informed of the lab work that will be carried out in the coming weeks.
