The 4th National Psychology Conference took place in Vitoria from 21 to 24 July 2019.
Last week, members of the Research Group on Psychosocial Well-being in Childhood and Adolescence (BIPSIA) took part in the 4th National Psychology Conference in Vitoria, from 21 to 24 July. The main objective of this event is to promote Spanish psychology and the increasingly strong link between the profession and science, creating links between them that allow the transfer of knowledge, since they are both sides of the same coin that need to be mutually reinforced.
The conference was a remarkable success due to the quality of the presentations, the networking opportunities and the large attendance of around 1,500 participants.
In this hectic context, the DARSI Programme (Developing Healthy and Egalitarian Adolescent Relationships) was presented. It is an intervention programme developed by the BIPSIA Research Group, focusing on the prevention of peer and intimate partner violence among adolescents, and designed to be implemented in secondary schools.
On the morning of Monday, 22 July, our researcher Sofía Buelga coordinated the symposium ‘Problematic online behaviours among adolescents: video games, nomophobia and intimate partner violence’. During this symposium, Laura Carrascosa Iranzo presented the lecture ‘Intimate partner cyber-violence and cyberbullying among adolescents prevention through the DARSI Programme’, while other psychologists offered different points of view on the subject.
On the morning of Tuesday, 23 July, our researcher Laura Carrascosa Iranzo presented the poster ‘Assessment of the DARSI Programme for the prevention of intimate partner and peer violence by the participating teachers and students’.
