From 5 to 7 December we taught the workshop-course titled “Promoting scientific research projects and experiences” (PEIC) at the Humanities Faculty of the University of Santo Domingo. This visit was funded by the international cooperation mobility grants awarded by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Internationalisation and Cooperation.
The PEIC workshops’ aim was to promote positive attitudes and to develop specific research skills. The talks covered topics such as the design of research projects, the systematic revision of literature, the development and validation of tools to support professional practice in vulnerable groups and the risks and protectors in the quality of professional life in healthcare and social care.
 

We also covered good practices in research and conducted a workshop on research methodology applied to the classroom following the “Research Sandpit” method to stimulate new research ideas and build innovative bridges between different disciplines.
We must thank the students and professors who attended this event for their participation in the workshops as well as for the excellent rating of the workshops and courses that we have been receiving in the questionnaires designed to evaluate utility, quality and future improvements of the programme.

This visit has also strengthened the collaboration agreement between the UASD and the UV, which has been renewed for several years and is currently in force, facilitating meetings to explore future areas of research within the agreement and also possible ways of joint international funding with the Organisation  of Ibero-American States. We hope that the future will present us with new opportunities to cooperate and conduct similar events.
