Laura Galiana and Irene Fernández are coordinating a special issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine on cognitive ageing and mild cognitive impairment.
The ARMAQoL research group at the University of Valencia announces the coordination of a new special issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM) entitled ‘New Insights in Cognitive Aging and Mild Cognitive Impairment’, in the Geriatric Medicine section.
The initiative is led by Professors Irene Fernández and Laura Galiana, members of the ARMAQoL team, both affiliated with the Department of Behavioural Science Methodology at the University of Valencia.
The aim of the special issue is to address the challenges posed by cognitive ageing, identifying both the normal course of cognitive change in old age and emerging clinical forms of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The scientific community is invited to submit papers exploring topics ranging from the conceptualisation and measurement of cognition in old age to longitudinal analyses and recent interventions, with a multidisciplinary approach integrating psychology, medicine, nursing, neuroscience, gerontology and public health.
Researchers, clinicians, and professionals from different disciplines are encouraged to submit original manuscripts, reviews, or short communications. The deadline for manuscript submission is 20 February 2026.
This special issue represents an excellent opportunity to highlight research on quality of life, cognition, and ageing, and strengthens the ARMAQoL team's profile in the field of geriatrics and applied gerontology.
We invite all interested parties to consult the submission instructions on the MDPI website and contribute to this initiative led by the University of Valencia.
