Professor Pedro Morillo appointed as the Universitat de València Representative at the RCCH

The Real Colegio Complutense is a Harvard University center dedicated to academic, scientific and cultural collaboration between the prestigious American university and the Spanish System of Higher Education.

The principal of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre, appointed Full University Professor Pedro Morillo as the new Universitat de València Representative of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard (RCCH). Morillo takes on this new management position in addition to his current role as Director of the UV Language Centre.

The RCCH has been affiliated with Harvard University since 1990. It is a non-governmental organization dedicated to academic, scientific and cultural collaboration between the Harvard and the Spanish System of Higher Education.

The Universitat de València has signed a partnership agreement with the RCCH allowing for collaboration between the staff and students from both institutions.

 

Pedro Morillo

Pedro Morillo earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering in 1998 from the Universitat de València. In 2004, earned his doctoral degree, also from the UV, with his thesis titled “Mejora de las prestaciones de los Entornos Virtuales Distribuidos” (Improving the performance of Distributed Virtual Environments), which received a doctoral prize of excellence. Currently, Dr. Morilla is a full university professor in the Department of Computer Science and a member of the University Research Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC) of the UV, where he developed his research career. His research focuses on the paradigms and associated distributed VR/AR computing systems, advanced human-machine interfaces and multimodal interaction (MDI) for both industrial and medical applications.

He completed postdoctoral research stays at Iowa State University (Ames, Iowa, USA) in 2004, the University of Louisiana (Lafayette, Louisiana, USA) in 2006, CAU Chung-Ang University (Seoul, Korea) in 2009 and the University of Arkansas (Little Rock, Arkansas, USA) in 2017. He currently maintains an active collaboration with the University of Arkansas.

From 2015 to the present, he has held different management positions at the UV related to the promotion and management of studies, as well the university’s online strategy.
