In a socio-economic context marked by uncertainty, it is more urgent than ever to develop applied research that promotes entrepreneurial activity as an axis of sustainable economic development, a source of job generation, technological innovation and well-being for citizens. The role, therefore, of the university to stimulate co-creation, knowledge transfer and the structuring of active and dynamic innovation networks is crucial.
This work team has been collaborating, in different ways, for more than a decade. As a result of this collaboration maintained during so much time, the research group ROCK-EU (Research on Opportunities, Capabilities, and Knowledge in Entrepreneurial Universities) was recognised by the Universitat de València in 2023 with reference code GIUV/2023-596.
The work carried out by this research group, both conceptually and empirically and experimentally, seeks to provide social agents and policymakers with proven facts for making informed decisions.
This research group focuses on university entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon, from a micro perspective, analysing entrepreneurial initiative at the individual level of university students and staff; at the meso level, studying the institutional entrepreneurship of universities through structures, centres, and support networks; and at the macro level, focusing on entrepreneurial activity in relation to the environment, both with the agents of the quadruple helix (academia, public administration, company/startup and people) and for the analysis of its impact at different territorial levels, from local to European (in line with the FORTHEM Alliance to which the Universitat de València belongs).
To this end, this group collaborates with other researchers who work in entrepreneurship, with the support areas for entrepreneurs at universities, with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and through European projects and in the FIT Forthem and Forthem alliances of which the Universitat de València is part.
