Noemi Crescentini obtained her Master's degree in Sociology and Social Research in 2020 and her PhD in Social Sciences and Statistics in 2024, both from the University of Naples Federico II. She is currently a research fellow in the Department of Social Sciences at the same university, as well as a contract lecturer on the Monitoring Systems and Evaluation Tools course.
Her research interests focus on the relationships between society, science and technology and the social research methodology.
During her PhD, she investigated the phenomenon of citizen science in Italy using a mixed-methods approach, integrating perspectives from science communication, the sociology of science and science and technology studies (STS).
She was a visiting scholar at the Competence Centre Citizen Science affiliated with the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich, and is currently a visiting researcher at the University of Valencia.
