Noemi Crescentini va obtenir el seu màster en Sociologia i Investigació Social el 2020 i el seu doctorat en Ciències Socials i Estadística el 2024, tots dos per la Universitat de Nàpols Federico II. Actualment és investigadora del Departament de Ciències Socials de la mateixa universitat, així com professora contractada del curs de Sistemes de Seguiment i Eines d'Avaluació. Els seus interessos de recerca se centren en les relacions entre la societat, la ciència i la tecnologia i la metodologia de la recerca social. Durant el seu doctorat, va investigar el fenomen de la ciència ciutadana a Itàlia utilitzant un enfocament de mètodes mixtos, integrant perspectives des de la comunicació de la ciència, la sociologia de la ciència i els estudis de ciència i tecnologia (STS). Va ser investigadora visitant al Centre de Competència Ciència Ciutadana adscrit a la Universitat de Zuric i a l'ETH Zurich, i actualment és investigadora visitant a la Universitat de València.
