Description

Application of work and recovery techniques for musculoskeletal injuries through the use of scientific methodology and modern and up-to-date technological and statistical management. This group includes experts from the fields of physiotherapy, physical education, electronic engineering, physicists and public health experts. Tendon and muscle behaviour will be studied by means of anthropometric assessment, blood and genetic studies, ultrasound scanning and dynamometry by statistical analysis of neural networks and organised maps.

Goals CT
  • Application of functional recovery methodology and physiotherapy by means of technological advances.
  • Analysis of tendon and muscle behaviour by means of genetic and haematological studies together with ultrasound and anthropometric assessment.
  • Transfer of results and statistical treatments with innovative and updated data analysis systems using neural networks and organised maps.
Research lines
  • The influence of genetics and tendon alterations and injuries

This is a pioneering work with international collaboration and the first in the world to study the influence of the genetic factor on tendinopathies in the shoulder in different populations where we will study sportsmen, haemophiliacs, disabled people in wheelchairs and the general population.

  • Assessment and recovery of sports injuries

The study of musculoskeletal injuries via functional assessment with the use of ultrasound scanning and biomechanical material for the improvement of overall function and performance and the prevention of injuries.

  • Study of tendinopathies and their recovery

Study of tendon pathologies in general and tendon injuries in sports in particular, and their recovery using a work methodology with physical activity.

  • Study of osteoporosis and its prevention through physical exercise

Study of the population affected by or at risk of osteoporosis and its improvement and prevention through physical exercise using a working system with elastic bands that is easy to handle and applicable to home treatment.
