Synthesis of heterocyclic nitrogen compounds and subsequent study of their chemical reactivity. Study the ability of the prepared compounds to coordinate with different cationic and/or anionic species and study the possible applications of these interactions. Based on this knowledge, the possible pharmacological activity of the prepared compounds will be studied.

Goals CT
  • Development of new synthetic methodologies for preparing heterocyclic nitrogen compounds.
  • Reactivity study of the compounds prepared: Acid-base properties, reactivity towards nucleophiles and electrophiles. Functionalisation reactions.
  • Interaction studies of the prepared heterocycles with cationic and/or anionic species as well as with biomolecules. Sensor applications.
  • Study of the possible pharmacological activity of the compounds prepared.
