The research group aims at the application and validation of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (Linehan, 1993) in: borderline personality disorder, cluster B personality disorders, and other psychological disorders with problems in the regulation of affect.
This line argues that the body is essential in the configuration of identity and in the understanding of psychological processes. The main objective is to analyse the bodily processes involved in psychopathological alterations, as well as the psychological effect of the manipulation of the body.
To study the results of assessments in the areas affected in these disorders such as clinical, neurocognitive, social cognition (emotional processing, ToM, social cognition and attributional style) and their relationship with social functioning.
To assess neurocognition and social cognition in schizophrenia, including attention, episodic memory, executive functions, emotional perception, theory of mind, attributional style and social perception.
The end-of-life care line began with the participation of Enric Benito and Pilar Barreto in agreements between the UV and the SECPAL (Spanish Society of Palliative Care) to jointly design a measure of spirituality in patients that was clinically, psychometrically and culturally relevant to measure the resources to deal with symptomatology beyond the physical at the end of life. After a decade of productive collaboration, research in this field (EPIONE study) progressed towards intervention (KIBO protocol). On the other hand, always with the emphasis on methodology, the proposal and validation of new measurement tools, research was extended to other relevant topics such as dignity or demoralisation syndrome in patients.
The efficiency of interventions on quality of life is designed and studied in patients and their environment as well as in professionals. In the case of professionals, research is carried out not only in the health field, whether in palliative care, intensive care or home care, but also in general in professional activities with high emotional demand, such as care for people with functional diversity, children with developmental disorders or police. There are several interventions based on Positive Psychology that show effectiveness in reducing stress in professionals with high emotional demand.
From ARMAQoL, with an emphasis on methodology and in collaboration with clinical experts from the UV, we investigate the use of different mechanisms and formats of these interventions, making them more appealing, and trying to reduce dropout rates. In professionals, the multicentre YASO study, in collaboration with the UIB (Noemí Sansó, member of the team) was our first incursion into the inner curriculum of palliative care professionals. Nowadays, this research, with a strong theoretical basis, has been consolidated as a diagnostic approach in health systems in numerous countries, in different languages.
Currently, in this line, we are developing the project ‘Longitudinal study of compassion’ and other determinants of professional quality of life: A research on palliative care professionals at national level (CompPal), financed by the State Research Agency - 2018 Calls, R&D&I Projects Research Challenges.

In this line, technological products for research, assessment and teaching in text-based learning environments (standardised tests, intelligent tutors and research tools) are developed. The conditions of the task environment, such as question format or task interface, that influence learning are also investigated.

GEM-Educo aims to provide measurement and evaluation instruments that serve to assess the contributions that Education makes towards the development and transformation of society, from a concept of Social Cohesion. It integrates different perspectives and aims to build a global model for the evaluation of education systems, in order to improve education in favour of Social Cohesion. GEM-Educo is developed with a commitment: to evaluate education (whether in the Systems, Institutions or Programmes) from a position that privileges the right of all to a quality education. In other words, integrating inclusion as a basis for achieving excellence. In this sense, the concept of Social Cohesion adopted by the Council of Europe (Lisbon, 2000, 2005), as a guide for the development of public policies, constitutes an integrating and systemic vision of quality, which can embrace the idea of quality as a right for the whole of society from any ideological position. For this reason, GEM-Educo aims to provide measurement and evaluation instruments which serve to assess the contributions which Education makes towards the development and transformation of society, based on a concept of Social Cohesion. In short, it integrates different perspectives and, due to its holistic - globalising - nature, aims to build a model which necessarily requires the support of a large research group and different projects.

Positive Psychology defends the importance of studying the well-being of individuals. In the research group we aim to investigate in this field, developing Positive Interventions applied through ICTs and studying the processes involved in well-being.
Statistical models usually of structural equation models that explain the interrelationship between key variables to understand the impact of each variable and predict one or more issues of interest with minimal error. Multi-sample models, multilevel models, multitrait-multimethod models and longitudinal models or models with latent growth curve trajectories. These models test invariance in its different phases of expression, they also allow us to approach AFC, path models, covariance structure models, hybrid EFA models, MIMIC models... in other words, they provide us with a great versatility to capture, to model the complex reality of trying to explain the quality of life in citizenship. In this line, researchers of the group based in the area of Methodology of Knowledge Sciences participate the most.
The way of living has an impact on the physical and mental health of individuals. The research group aims to investigate and provide strategies to achieve a better quality of life in people, developing interventions applied through ICTs.
To evaluate the effectiveness of different programmes (e.g. IPT, EMT, INT) in improving neurocognition, social cognition and social functioning in people with mental disorders.
Development and implementation of intervention programmes focused on the improvement of social skills, neurocognitive and social cognition training and psychoeducational programmes for the improvement of social functioning and quality of life from a recovery perspective.
The use of ICTs is growing exponentially in the field of Clinical Psychology. Our aim is to design applications (web platforms, virtual reality, mobile systems) that serve as therapeutic tools in the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders.

Study of beliefs, attitudes and discrimination towards mental illness in the general population and their relationship with knowledge and contact or familiarity with mental illness.
A systematic review is an objective review of a clearly formulated question whose answer requires the integration of the empirical studies that have been carried out on it. Its aim is to systematically and objectively accumulate the evidence obtained in empirical studies on a given problem. Therefore, systematic reviews are secondary studies that synthesise the available scientific information through rigorous and explicit methods, which saves time for health and social care professionals and provides them with an overview of what the scientific evidence suggests about studies in promotion of the life quality.
