Measurement at ground level

Type: Equipment

The equipment consists of a double Nephelometer with conditioner for the measurement of aerosol dispersion, an etalometer for the measurement of aerosol absorption, and a TSI-APS for the measurement of size distribution.

Description

The tandem nephelometers measure the aerosol total scattering coeficient and backscatter coeficient for air samples after a drying and humidification process, to derive the effect of humidity in the aerosol coefficients. The aethalometer measures light attenuation at 7 different wavelengths covering the UV (370 nm), visible (470, 550, and 660 nm) and NIR (880 and 950 nm) ranges to derive the absorption coeficient of aerosols and the content on Black Carbon. The Aerodynamic Particle Sizer (APS) spectrometer 3321 measures the aerosol size distribution at ground level for the interval 0.5 to 20 µm.
