The EFICO group carries out its work in the fields of research, innovation, and knowledge transfer within the institutional framework of the University of Valencia. This setting provides access to the means, infrastructures, and resources offered by the University, as well as the support and collaboration of various associated institutions, partner entities, and sponsoring organizations. Such synergy facilitates the consolidation of high-impact academic and social projects, contributing to the enhancement of sustainability and excellence in higher education.

Additionally, EFICO annually organizes the International Congress on Sustainability in Higher Education (CISMES), an academic meeting space that has become a benchmark forum for researchers, faculty, and students. The congress fosters the exchange of experiences, the dissemination of best practices, and critical reflection on advances in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer related to sustainability. It further promotes the creation of cooperation networks and the development of joint initiatives that strengthen institutional commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.
