Dr. Zingales awarded by the ESTIV with the Early Career Award

Dr. Veronica Zingales, postdoctoral researcher in the RiskTox group, has been awarded by the European Society of In Vitro Toxicology (ESTIV) with the Early Career Award for in vitro research focused on the study of foodborne natural compounds and their effects on human health.

The award ceremony for the renowned award took place during the 22nd ESTIV International Congress, held in Prague from June 3 to 6, 2024. The award was announced and presented by doctors Helena Kanďárová, President of ESTIV, and Clive Roper, President of the Scientific Committee of the ESTIV 2024 Congress. After the award ceremony, Dr. Zingales gave a lecture entitled: “From toxicological three-dimensional models and microfluidics: the impact of the culture system on the toxicological evaluation of food contaminants”. The Congress was also attended by Dr. María José Ruiz, president of the Spanish Association of Toxicology (AETOX) and director of the RiskTox research group, and doctoral students from the aforementioned group, Mercedes Taroncher and Raquel Penalva.
