Aula Empresocial organizes a conference at the Universitat de València on housing cooperatives based on use-right arrangements

The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València will host on May 7, 2026 the conference entitled “Housing cooperatives based on use-right arrangements”, an academic event focused on the legal, economic, and tax analysis of this alternative model for accessing housing.

CartelThe event is organized by the Chair of Entrepreneurship in Social and Sustainable Economy (Aula Empresocial of the Universitat de València) and is part of the activities of the research project “The taxation of capital from the perspective of tax justice —FISCAP— (CIAICO/2023/063)”, funded by the Generalitat Valenciana.

The meeting will bring together specialists from the academic and professional fields to address, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the legal framework of housing cooperatives based on use-right arrangements, as well as their tax treatment and practical application. Participants include university faculty, experts in social economy, and representatives of cooperative initiatives who will share real experiences in implementing this model.

The program is structured into several sessions, including a round table on the context and legal framework, a block devoted to taxation issues, and a session on experiences titled “How it is done”, where practical cases of operating cooperatives will be presented.

The event will be held in a hybrid format (on-site and online) in the Joaquín Tomás Villarroya Hemicycle Hall of the Faculty of Law, and is aimed at the university community, professionals, and anyone interested in the social economy and alternative access to housing.
