The conference 'Emprendre per l'Economia Social' ('Entrepreneurship for the Social Economy'), held on 15 April at the IES Jaume I in Borriana, was a great success of participation and acceptance among students.

The activity is part of the EmprendeES training cycle, funded by the Generalitat Valenciana, whose objective is to promote an entrepreneurial culture among young people based on the values of the social economy.

During the session, attending students were introduced to the Aula Empresocial program, reflected on the concept of entrepreneurship with a social focus, and explored the business models specific to this approach, guided by Antonia Sajardo, Associate Professor in Applied Economics at the Universitat de València, and Pilar Alguacil, Professor in Financial and Tax Law.

The event also featured inspiring testimonies from two real cooperative entrepreneurship experiences: Koira Canine Centre and Cubo de Rubik (Coop. Valenciana), with the participation of Helga Figueroa and Sandra Bernat. In addition, an interactive activity led by Teresa Puchol, Doctor in Law, invited students to actively engage in identifying challenges and solutions from a social economy perspective.

The session was moderated by Teresa Puchol and Antonia Sajardo, and was held in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., with a dynamic, participatory format adapted to the educational environment.

This was the first meeting of the 'EmprendeES: Entrepreneurship for the Social Economy' cycle, which throughout 2025 will visit various centers across the Valencian Community, promoting collective, sustainable, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship among young people.
