The event took place on 18 September 2023 at Aulari Nord at the Faculty of Law and on 25 September 2023 at Viver.
The Aula d’Emprendoria en Economia Social i Sostenible (AulaEmpresocial) at the Universitat de València UVemprén and the Diputació de València (Provincial Council of Valencia) within the frame of the grants given by the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), and designated for training, promotion and dissemination of social economy at the Comunitat Valenciana, will carry out two theoretical-practical workshops on social economy, each one lasting 8 hours and aimed at university students, with the objective of promoting and introducing social economy companies.
The first workshop, focused on cooperatives, was held on 18 and 25 September. On the first day, a theoretical session was carried out, in which Antonia Sajardo, Senior Lecturer of Applied Economics and member of AulaEmpresocial gave her conference on “What are cooperatives and which types are there?”. Pilar Alguacil, Professor of Financial Law and Director of AulaEmpresocial carried out a conference on “Taxation on cooperatives” and, Alicia Mas, Senior Lecturer of Business Management and member of AulaEmpresocial, gave the attendees a conference on “How to undertake in cooperatives?”
After the break, the session continued with the conference of Andrea Rey, Lecturer in Business Management and member of a classroom called “La importancia de las cooperativas en España” (“The importance of cooperatives in Spain”). Additionally, Pilar Alguacil and Antonia Sajardo finished the session with two lectures on good practices and experiences in cooperatives, and a workshop activity involving participant interaction.
On the second day of the workshop, 25 September, the participants visited the Cooperativa de Viver (Castellón) to know first-hand how is a cooperative and how does it work. There, they could settle in a practical way the knowledge acquired at the theoretical session.
