Through this seminar we will approach the figure of the Valencian filmmaker Luis García Berlanga, in three sessions, focusing from the most personal side to the most universal aspects contained in his work, analysing its validity and survival.
In the different sessions we will trace a vital resemblance of the origins of the young Berlanga and the historical context of the València of the time; we will go through the keys of his humour and analyse the validity of his work and we will look for the mark he has left on the new generations of filmmakers working from the Valencian Community. The sessions will include the screening of some fragments of several film productions.
