One of the great revolutions facing society in the 21st century is the accelerated aging process. This long-lived society is the result of both low mortality and low birth rates. This change in the demographic structure is having social, economic and political consequences, which require a redefinition of the provision of public services adapted to the new reality in terms of social demands and in terms of available economic resources, which interact to shape the offer and impact on the equity of public and private benefits. The objectives of this research unit, organized into nine lines of research, are focused on, on the one hand, generating quality knowledge on all aspects related to the issue, using the most appropriate quantitative and statistical techniques and approximations, and, on the other hand, in carrying out the economic, social and social planning studies that allow us to reduce our uncertainties, increasing our knowledge to implement the most appropriate policies and actions, improving the efficiency of the system.
