Title: Effects of electric (and magnetic) fields on galaxy formation

Abstract:

We will show recent results on interesting effects from electric fields due to hydrostatic equilibrium and to accretion of charges by black holes (of primordial or stellar origin) in galaxies.  We show that these provide an alternative scenario to explain the seeds of the cosmic magnetic fields observed today, and discuss ongoing projects that look at possible present-day observables.
