Abstract:
Observations of ringdown of binary black hole (BBH) mergers provide us a powerful way to explore the strong and highly dynamical regime of gravity theories. It is particular interest for both the black hole (BH) spectroscopy and the inspiral-merger-ringdown consistency check. We investigate the ringdown of BBH merger in scalar-Gauss-Bonnet (sGB) gravity by performing self-consistent fully nonlinear simulations, which provide the quasi-normal mode (QNM) excitation amplitude and phase information that is not achievable from perturbative calculations. In this talk, I will discuss the results of our simulations and QNM extraction.
