Biography

Research field: Dark matter indirect searches. Computational cosmology. Small scale structure of the Universe

I completed my doctoral studies at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (UAM-CSIC) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Miguel A. Sánchez-Conde. My dissertation, entitled "N-body cosmological simulations and gamma rays as tools to reveal the properties of dark matter halo substructure", was awarded the highest distinction, Sobresaliente Cum Laude, with the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize. Subsequently, I obtained a postdoctoral position at Durham University (UK) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Carlos Frenk and Prof. Dr. Adrian Jenkins.

I have presented my work at over 25 national and international conferences, including a plenary talk at the International Cosmic Ray Conference held in Nagoya in the summer of 2023. I have taught computer science courses at both BSc and MSc level since 2019, and have co-supervised four Master's theses and one Bachelor's thesis. I have taken part in numerous outreach activities, often focusing on minority groups and bringing science to underserved communities.

Dr. Danielski obtained MSc and PhD at UCL (London, UK). She worked as a CNES Fellow at the Paris Observatory and Research Associate at the IAS and CEA (Paris, France). Following she moved to Spain where she was a Severo Ochoa Research Associate at the IAA (Granada). In 2023 she won the INAF astrophysics Fellowship at the Arcetry Observatory (Florence, Italy).

Dr. Danielski merged for the first time the exoplanets and gravitational waves fields, opening a new window on the study of exoplanets, providing for the first time the possibility to probe for such a population everywhere in the Milky way and nearby galaxies. In 2020 she won an honourable mention by the Gravity Research Foundation.

She is a member of the ESA science team of the Ariel space mission, and the scientific leader of the “Stellar Characterisation” WG of the Ariel Consortium. She is also the NASA point of contact  for the NASA Ariel Science Center, IPAC. Dr. Danielski is the scientific leader of the interdisciplinary team within the LISA Astrophysical WG, coordinating the development of the science case on planetary detection with GWs.

RESEARCH INTERESTS: planetary systems characterisation and planetary systems long-term evolution, detection of exoplanets with gravitational waves, exoplanet atmospheres, stellar characterisation.

Biography

Daniela Doneva is a theoretical astrophysicist specializing in modified theories of gravity, gravitational waves, and compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes. She earned her Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia in 2012, after completing her M.Sc. and B.Sc. in physics and astronomy there.

She has held prestigious research positions including Emmy Noether Independent Junior Research Group Leader, Margarete von Wrangell Habilitation Fellow, and Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the University of Tübingen. In September 2025 she joined the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Valencia as a Ramon y Cajal fellow.

Daniela Doneva plays an active role in major international gravitational-wave initiatives, most notably as a core member of the LISA Consortium and, since 2025, as a member of the LISA Council. She also contributes to the broader gravitational-wave community through her involvement in the Einstein Telescope Observational Science Board. Her scientific work strongly connects theoretical modeling of compact objects and alternative theories of gravity with future gravitational-wave and electromagnetic observations of various astrophysical phenomena.

Her research achievements have been recognized through prestigious awards. These include the Gustav-Hertz-Preis of the German Physical Society (2024), the Pythagoras Grand Prize for Young Scientists, awarded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Science.

Biography

My name is Gaëtan Fichet de Clairfontaine, and I am a postdoctoral researcher in astrophysics at the University of Valencia, within Manel Perucho’s group. I earned my PhD in Astrophysics in 2022 at the Paris Observatory, focusing on high-energy phenomena in relativistic jets and their interaction with the surrounding environment.

My research interests include active galactic nuclei (AGN), the dynamics of relativistic jets, jet-star interactions, non-thermal particle acceleration, and multi-messenger astrophysics, with a special emphasis on neutrino and high-energy emission. I combine relativistic magnetohydrodynamic simulations with radiative transfer and theoretical modeling to investigate the observable signatures of dissipative processes in jets.

In addition to my research activities, I am involved in teaching. During the 2025-26 academic year, I was one of the instructors responsible for the outflows module in the Stellar Astrophysics course (Group PT-T, course code 43296).

Biography

I have obtained my PhD thesis at the Max-Planck-Institute of Astrophysics (MPA), Garching,
Germany (Oct 2008 – Nov 2011, Best 'Universe PhD Thesis' 2012 (Theory)) on the topic of
magneto-elastic oscillations of magnetars. I continued this research
line in my first Postdoc position at the University of Valencia (UV) (Nov 2011 – Jan 2014), where I extended our method by allowing for a decoupling of superfluid neutrons in the core.  In Feb 2014, I moved back to the MPA to work in the group of Prof. Thomas Janka, where I stayed for 5 years. I was responsible for one of the main three research lines: the long-time simulations of supernova explosions with the PROMETHEUS-HOTB code. I got involved in the writing of computing time proposals and was
responsible for a project to MPI-paralellize the code, which was undertaken by staff at the
Universe Cluster computing center C2PAP, Munich, Germany.
In 2019, I moved as a visiting professor to the Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (UESC),
Ilhéus , Brazil, where I teached several undergraduate courses. Since June 2020, I am working
as distinguished researcher of the plan “GENT” of the Generalitat de Valencia at the UV
(CIDEGENT/2019/031). I obtained the I3 certificate, the accreditaion to PPL and have 2 sexenios de investigacion.

I’m a theoretical astrophysicist, with a research framework in General Relativity, gravitational waves theory and numerical resolution methods of differential equations. My main research interests are focused on Numerical Relativity, Neutron Star EOS, compact objects (ordinary and exotic ones) and gravitational waves. I believe that the numerical approach to these astrophysical issues that I studied from the courses of the M.Sc and in my Ph.D would gave me a solid basis to exploit in order to develop new numerical simulations and solutions toward compact objects, as Neutron Stars or Boson stars (in particular Axion stars).

Biography

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Valencia (2012) and a PhD in Physics cum laude from the University of Valencia (2018). He is currently a Ramón y Cajal researcher (since 2024) in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics. His research field is Numerical Relativity, which investigates the dynamics of physical systems described by General Relativity (GR) using numerical algorithms and computational resources to obtain their time evolution. In particular, he is interested in studying the dynamics of astrophysical compact objects (black holes and neutron stars), as well as more exotic theoretical compact objects (boson stars and scalarized black holes) and the gravitational-wave signals they emit.

Recently, he has been producing numerical gravitational waveforms from mergers of Proca stars (vector boson stars) to compare them with real gravitational-wave events detected by the LIGO–Virgo–KAGRA detector network, of which he has been a member since 2016. He is also interested in the formation of hairy black holes, either through the superradiant instability or via mergers of boson stars, as well as in extending the boson star family by considering multiple fields and assessing their stability.

He has participated in several research projects at the national, regional, and European levels.
