7250 GC/Q-TOF High Resolution (Agilent)

GC-MS
7250 GC/Q-TOF High Resolution (Agilent)
Brand: Agilent 7250 GC/Q-TOF (1 Units)
Type: Equipment

System designed for the analysis of complex mixtures and the identification of unknown compounds, combining screening, confirmation, and quantification. It is particularly powerful in environmental, food, metabolomics, and regulatory control applications, where comprehensive spectral information is key.

Description
  • Gas Chromatograph:

    • Oven temperature range up to 450ºC.

    • Supports 20 temperature ramps and 21 plateaus.

    • Oven cooling from 450ºC to 50ºC in 4 minutes.

    • Multimode Inlet with programmed temperature: split ratios up to 7500:1.

    • Maximum temperature of 400ºC.

    • Gas saver mode to reduce gas consumption.

    • Tool-free liner exchange system without lowering inlet temperature.

    • Automatic liquid injector: fully aligned needle, self-calibrating, and 150-vial capacity (2 ml).

  • QTOF Mass Detector (Quadrupole Time-of-Flight):

    • Consists of an electron impact ion source, quadrupole mass filter, MS/MS collision cell, time-of-flight analyzer, and ADC detector.

    • INERT EI source with conventional and soft ionization modes to preserve molecular ions.

    • Mass range: 20 to 1050 Da (quadrupole); 20 to 3,000 m/z (TOF), independent of acquisition speed.

    • Scan speed: up to 50 spectra/second.

    • Mass accuracy below 2 ppm.

    • Sensitivity: instrumental detection limit (IDL) below 60 fg.

    • TOF mass resolution: greater than 25,000 for mass 271.9867.

  • Performance and Software:

    • Total dynamic range of $10^5$. Linear calibration curves over four orders of magnitude.

    • Variable ionization energy between 5 and 200 eV.

    • User-selectable source (100°-350°C) and quadrupole (100°-200°C) temperatures.

    • Autotune and quick vent system.

    • Includes latest generation computer and software for data acquisition and qualitative/quantitative analysis with structural elucidation tools.

Practical implementation
  • Environmental analysis: VOCs, Pesticides, PCBs, PAHs, and quality control of air, water, and soil.

  • Toxicology and forensics: Drugs of abuse, alcohols, solvents.

  • Food industry: Aromas, volatile compounds, and pesticide residues.

  • Petrochemistry and fuels: Hydrocarbons and complex mixture characterization.

  • Industrial quality control: Analysis of solvents and volatile impurities.

  • Metabolomics.
