Ultracentrifuge for small volumes with 3 rotors: S55A2, S50A and swing-out rotor S52ST.
Ultracentrifuge located in the BCL2+ room of the Cell Culture laboratory (BCL2). It can reach up to 1,050,000 xg with the appropriate rotor. It has a HEPA filter and protection against "Inbalance".
Currently equipped with 3 rotors:
- Fixed Angle S55A2. Capacity: microtubes. Max 55.000 rpm.
- Fixed Angle S50A. Capacity: 6 x 30 ml. Max 50.000 rpm.
- Oscillating S52ST Capacity: 4 x 5 ml. Max 52.000 rpm.
Any application requiring high-speed centrifugation of non-bulky samples. Purification of proteins, lipoproteins, cell organelles, DNA, RNA and other nano-sized particles. Suitable for developing viral particle purification protocols.
Annual reviews by external company.
To be an authorised user of the Cell Culture Service and in particular of the BCL2+ room. To do so, you must be informed about the project, the collaborators who will be working there, the use of biological agents, be familiar with the rules for working in the room, be given a guided tour by the technicians of the section and have previous experience in working with cell cultures.
Access to the facilities is by gown, tights and FFP2 mask for exclusive use in this room.
