Biography

Industrial Engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de València (2014) with an MSc in Carbon Capture and Storage from Cranfield University (United Kingdom). PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cranfield University (United Kingdom) since 2017. During her doctoral studies, she researched the development of new materials for CO2 capture using the carbonation/calcination cycles of CaO at pilot plant scale. She has been a visiting researcher at the Istituto di Ricerche sulla Combustione in Naples (Italy) and the Institut für Feuerungs- und Kraftwerkstechnik in Stuttgart (Germany).

In 2017, she held a postdoctoral researcher position at Cranfield University (United Kingdom), where she studied atmospheric CO2 capture using Ca and Mg-based materials and fuel cells for hydrogen production. In 2018, she joined the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom) as a postdoctoral researcher, where she led two industrial projects aimed at developing pilot/commercial plants for various chemical processes. During her time as a postdoctoral researcher, she supervised Master's and PhD students and taught several courses in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering, as well as led a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) as part of a knowledge transfer program between companies and universities. In 2020, she joined the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos with a Marie Curie contract to develop porous solid materials for CO2 capture at low concentrations. In 2022, she obtained a position as Assistant Lecturer at URJC, and in 2023 she joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Universitat de València with a Ramón y Cajal contract.

To date, she has published 27 scientific articles and presented her work at numerous national and international conferences. She has actively participated in 11 publicly funded projects and 5 contracts with companies.

Biography

Julio Revert Vercher is a predoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering (DIQ) at the University of Valencia (UV). He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Valencia and a Master's in Environmental Engineering (Extraordinary Award). He is currently developing his doctoral thesis in Chemical, Environmental, and Process Engineering with funding from the Generalitat Valenciana (ACIF).

RESEARCH/ His research has focused on the recovery of wastewater resources in laboratory and pilot plants, specifically on (i) the material and energy valorization of sludge from Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) through hydrothermal carbonization and anaerobic digestion processes, and (ii) the study of membrane technologies for wastewater reclamation and its subsequent reuse in agriculture. He has participated in 2 research projects (1 national and 1 international) and he has presented his work at various national and international conferences. His research has been primarily conducted within the CALAGUA-UV research group, affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valencia.

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT/ He has taught theoretical and practical classes in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valencia, contributing to the education of undergraduate students in environmental technologies and chemical processes. He has also represented students in the Department Council of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valencia, participating in academic decision-making and improving communication between faculty and students.

OTHER RELEVANT ACTIONS/ He is part of research networks in environmental technologies and the water sector, such as the Young Water Professionals Spain, within the International Water Association (IWA). He has also collaborated in scientific dissemination and sustainability initiatives, as well as in the search for innovative solutions for wastewater management and environmental protection.
