JOLIN2017 aims at becoming a referent in the university field regarding illustrated books. They are conceived as an inexhaustible source of possibilities, both because of their textual and graphic-visual content and their potential uses inside and outside the classroom.
This event intends to be an open platform for active learning and dialog between different professionals of illustrated literary creation and social change agents. The lines that articulate the three main aspects of the illustrated book are the following:
- Text and literary contents
- Illustration and editorial design
- Innovation in the practices with illustrated books
JOLIN2017 involves a global initiative, given the fact that each year it focuses its attention on a different reference country. This time, the invited country is Germany, therefore we will have the collaboration of design and graphic expression professionals from the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny Alacant (EASDA) and experts on production and formation of literary training from the University of Alacant, the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD), the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Universitat de València (UV).
These sessions were born with the objective of opening a space between the academic and the real world around the illustrated book, while the dialog opportunities between the different implied agents improve and its evolution through time is reflected.
